Congrats to Ranno Sootla as not only did he become the thrid Estonian to win a gold ring after shipping Event #5: €660 No-Limit Hold'em Mystery Bounty but also perfectly complimented the WSOP bracelet he won with a ring.
Sootla is one of the more popular players in Estonia and has crushed events online and at Olympic Park Casino for years before recently moving into cash games.

As Day 2 the 2023 WSOPC Tallinn Event #5: €660 No-Limit Hold'em Mystery Bounty started in the Estonian capital of Tallinn at noon today 25 players remained of the initial starting field of 164 to begin with. All 25 players were then able to pick up one of the mystery bounties available for each player you knocked out of the tournament. In one of these was an astonishing €10,000 up for grabs while in other envelopes it could be something in between €600 to €7,000.
A total of 21 players were paid in this event and it went pretty quickly down to the bubble where the tournament then went on hand-by-hand until we had two players all-in at the same time ending up splitting the prize money of €650 receiving €325 each.
From there it went in the blink of an eye down to the final 16 where a re-draw was made of the two tables before they were all moved to the two feature tables streamed on air until we had our last man standing.
A bounty tournament has a whole other aspect to take in before making any decisions since knocking someone out would earn you extra cash on top of the prize money. With this mystery bounty where there was such a huge difference between the amounts, it was even more tempting to make a loose call if you had the possibility to knock someone out since the more bounties you collected the more envelopes you were able to draw from the raffle and lay your hand on the big bucks.
That this affected the play became more and more obvious as we started the stream and several players were shortstacked. We would see so many three and four-way all-ins that it was almost hard to catch up with all the action. That’s not something you would see in a regular No-Limit Hold’em tournament if it wasn’t a huge cooler at showdown.
As a matter of fact, these factors made the final nine only become the final eight after Vilius Zabarauskas caught two birds with one stone down to the last ten players with his ace-queen which held all the way against Andrius Bielskis with king-nine and Sebastian Wahl’s king-queen sending them both to the rail on the final table bubble. This hand also gave him the chip lead going into the final table of eight.
The first player eliminated at the final table was in yet another three-way all-in when Zabarauskas, Yusuke Tanaka, and Yanis Sahli with two players at risk of elimination but it ended up with Tanaka taking down the pot as Sahli exited the tournament in eighth place for €1,670.
Soon after that, it was time for another all-in. This time it was the German Martin Sedlak who couldn’t find any of his outs with pocket fours versus Tanaka who had pocket fives. Sedlaks seventh place paid him €2,040.
Sweden’s favorite mascot Bjorne Lindberg was the next man to leave as his stack went in with ace-five which had no chance of catching an ace against Urmo Velvelt with pocket sixes. For sixth place, Bjorne was awarded €2,500.
Marco Baglioni was the next player to hit the door when his ace-nine neither could get lucky against Tanaka with ace-queen. The Italian got €3,050 for finishing sixth. But he was one of the players who got lucky in the mystery bounty and could collect another 6,000 to that making it €9,050 for his efforts.
Down to four players, the previous aggressive play pre-flop slowed down drastically and it took over an hour before the next player was out. Velvelt ran straight into jacks with his ace-eight against Sootla and he was out for a €4,060 payout. But after busting out Velvelt soon could add a bunch more to that since he had an astonishing five bounties to collect and was very lucky in the drawing for mystery bounties and winning €20,560 in total in this tournament which actually made him cash the most money of all of the finalists.
Vilius Zabarauskas
The former chip leader Zabarauskas lost a lot of pots and found himself as the shortest stack when he was in for a coin flip against Sootla which didn’t go in his favor when he didn’t hit the board with ace-queen versus jacks. An €5,050 was the award for third place but with several of those wanted bounty chips he collected double that amount receiving €10,700 in total.
Going into heads-up we had the chance to crown one more Estonian player as Sootla started the match with a two-to-one lead over Tanaka. And he never let that lead slip away and in the last hand of the tournament, it was a huge cooler for Tanaka’s ace-queen as he was up against Sootla’s ace-king. No queen or anything else on the board that could help the underdog it was all over and it was time to say congratulations to yet another Estonian for getting one of the 12 circuit rings up for grabs here in Tallinn on top of the €10,000 he received for first. And not just that. He got another €5,000 for his bounty too. Second place paid Tanaka €7,020 but he had another €1,500 added to that after picking up his mystery bounty.
Congratulations to Ranno Sootla for becoming the latest ring winner at the 2023 World Series of Poker Circuit Tallinn. Stay tuned at OlyBet.tv as we cover all the ring events throughout the week.

We just had two double up's here on the bubble. In the first hand, Bjorne Lindberg doubled with tens against Martin Sedlak with eights. On the other table, aces held against eights too for our player at risk and we are still one man to go before the bubble bursts.

We have lost our first four players in the tournament which also means four bounties have been given out which in the break when we reach 16 players will turn into those mystery envelopes.
They are now playing hand-by-hand in the tournament as there's only one more player left before we hit the money.

When today's game started Bjorne Lindberg from Sweden was the only player who wasn't in his seat of the 25 remaining but after 20 phone calls and someone running up and knocking on his door, he finally arrived at the tournament. Looking a little bit tired but at least he's here now since every single hand is important since it might make you bust another player and receive one of those mystery bounty checks with one worth an astonishing €10k.
Mark Metsla open-shoved from under the gun for 72,000 chips and it was followed by a call from Urmo Velvelt and a snap call from the bigger stacked Andrius Bielskis from the big blind.

which changed nothing for the player at risk and the river
locked up the pot for the Estonian who won 145,000 chips from Bielskis and claimed 72,000 chips and a bounty from Metsla.

Martin Sedlak started the day good with a nice little double up through Josep Pastor De Ramon leaving the later short in chips which went over the line the hand after and he was eliminated from the tournament as his wasn't holding up against Jarkko Suokas with

We have ten minutes left on the clock on level 17 with the blinds on 3,000/6,000 (6,000) and the first goal of the day is for the remaining players to first get down to the money which is the last 20 man standing. Then, when we reach the last two tables of 16 players in total we're moving everything over to the feature and secondary feature table and will have it all streamed.
By then the blog will also be on delay for obvious reasons but you can still read all the interesting hands and other updates here in the blog of course.
The €660 No-Limit Hold'em Mystery Bounty Event starts off at noon with 25 players left in the field with 20 of them making it into the money. However, all the remaining players will be able to get one of the mysterious bounty envelopes one of which contains €10,000.
25 players, 25 envelopes. For each player you bust out of the tournament you will get one bounty (one envelope) to open in each break of the tournament where you at least could get €1,200 added to your prize money but there's a wide range of what these mysterious envelopes contain so it will be really exciting seeing the players opening them during the day.
As soon as we reach the last 16 players we will move to the feature table and the secondary feature table with this tournament and you'll be able to watch it all live with our amazing commentators on your side. But first goal is to hit the money which means 20 players.
Play resumes at 12 p.m. Stay tuned!
