The Quad Kings Conv busts WSOP $1k in 58th

By Mad Harper

Marc “The Conv” Convey has attended plenty of World Series as a PokerNews blogger, not to mention extended stints behind the scenes as a commentator for the European Poker Tour.

Now it’s Convey’s turn in FRONT of the cameras. The Brighton-based player, who recently founded marketing agency 23 Digital, enjoyed an astonishing hand on Day 1 of the $1k No Limit which put him firmly in the spotlight.

The Conv flopped a set of Kings – and then hit a one-outer on the river for quads (busting three players in all, two with pocket Aces).

Convey, who hails from Croydon but now lives in Brighton, finally bust the event late yesterday in 58th place for $3,883. He wrote: “3b jam 16bb from button with a3cc. Cutoff had opened with KK. Had a blast and properly warmed up for the main event now ”

There were 1,730 entries creating a $1,575,000 prize pool. Patrick Truong now leads the final 20, chasing a first prize of $262,501. With Peter Akery busting in 30th place for $6,642, there are now no Brits left – on to the next!
