EPT Barcelona is just 10 days away

We are just 10 days away from one of the most exciting tournaments of the year taking place in the Catalan capital, EPT Barcelona. EPT Barcelona is taking place this year from August 21 to September 3 at Casino de Barcelona in the buzzy resort area of Port Olimpic. Huge numbers are expected after last year’s record-breaking field; the 2022 edition was the biggest Main Event in EPT history with 2,294 entries – more than ten times the 229 players who attended the very first EPT Barcelona 19 years ago.

EPT Barcelona is often the first festival that professional players head to after their post-Vegas break. This year’s event, which once again sees the EPT teaming up with the national Estrellas tour, looks particularly lush.

Non-stop action
It’s all action from the get-go in Barcelona with a veritable feast of tournaments on the very first day. The August 21 line-up includes the start of the €1,100 ESPT Main Event, a €1,100 Freezeout event, and a €10,200 Mystery Bounty.

It’s non-stop from then on … tournaments the next day includes a high-stakes Hyper Turbo Knockout (a bounty event with a total buy-in of €10,150) and the €1,100 single re-entry 8 Game tournament. The frenetic pace keeps up every day of the two-week festival with highlights that include the €550 ESPT Cup, the €2,200 ESPT High Roller, the €5,300 EPT Main Event (August 27-September 3), the €10,300 EPT High Roller, the €3k EPT Mystery Bounty and the €100,000 EPT Super High Roller – and the €50k Super High Roller Second Chance.

Plenty of super satellites
Recreational players may feel daunted by the dizzy heights of some of the tournament buy-ins but the schedule also features plenty of qualifiers, starting from as low as €250. There is even a satellite for the Super High Roller – giving players the chance to compete in the €100,000 event for “just” €10,400.

With a mouth-watering schedule like this on offer, players are going to be kept pretty busy down at Port Olimpic, but for those that can drag themselves away from the tables, Barcelona is also one of the top tourism destinations in Europe. The city is renowned for its fabulous architecture, lively nightlife, gastronomic delights, and great ambiance. It’s also a very “walkable” city with many of the most iconic sights all within easy distance on foot.
